Kambo Ceremony

What is Kambo?

Kambo is a traditional medicine used by many of the tribes of the Amazon rain forest.  Kambo promotes the understanding of our feelings by bringing up that which we have suppressed and long since forgotten.  By removing these impurities, the remnants of unprocessed and unhealthy feelings from the past, we reveal layer by layer our authentic-self.

Kambo clears the path ahead, promoting a deeper understanding of ourselves and everything around us. The clearer we are, the more resonant we become and the more we synchronize with ‘what is’.  In this ‘enlightened’ state both happiness and joy come easily because we are present and in the moment.

Kambo’s medicine washes away any negative physical and mental energies which deny us a balanced and peaceful life.  When we have allowed emotional toxins to thwart our outlook on life, or when we feel swamped, it is surely time for Kambo.  Many have described their Kambo experiences as a genuine rebirth, like walking through a portal after which they were never the same again.  Post Kambo some people have realized their formally illusive dreams and found it much easier to fulfill their heart’s desires.  Kambo helped them to reignite their courage and to acknowledge themselves on a deeper level, letting go of that which was holding them back and allowing them to embrace their highest happiness.

Preparing for Your Kambo Session & Aftercare

We will work with you at your session to determine how many “dots” to administer.

Please take preparing for your kambo session as seriously as we take your safety.  We strictly adhere to these guidelines.  When you arrive at your session, we will ask you if you complied with these preparation steps.  If you did not, we will not administer kambo to you and no refund will be given.

1-Month or More Prior

  • No 5-MeO-DMT (bufo)

  • No iboga

  • No chemotherapy or radiation treatments 6 weeks prior

1-Week Prior

  • No recreational drug use or use of DMT (dimethyltryptamine), LSD (lysergic acid), ketamine, etc.

  • No alcohol use

  • No water or dry fasting, colonics, enemas, liver flushes or any water-based detox, sweat lodges or saunas

3-Days Prior

  • Set your intentions.

    • Why do you feel called to kambo?

    • What are your intentions, be it physical, emotional, spiritual or energetic?

    • What do you wish to release?

  • Avoid 5HTP, dieting pills, and melatonin supplements.

  • Eat a clean, vegan diet if possible eliminating processed foods, alcohol, caffeine, high fat/sugar/spicy/salty foods, and meats.

  • Do not eliminate salt completely.  Small amounts are needed for your safety.

Same Day, Prior to Session

  • Do not eat food for 8-10 hours prior to your session.

  • Avoid all supplements.

  • Avoid taking any over-the-counter or prescription medications, unless absolutely necessary. Not only can they affect your safety, they will likely be purged out and wasted.  You can resume your regular medication regime after the session.

  • Do not consume cannabis.

  • The only acceptable substance to ingest prior to your session is normal amounts of water.

  • DO NOT DRINK EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF WATER prior to arriving to your session.

  • Before administering kambo, you will be asked to drink approximately 2 liters of water (available onsite) to allow for easier purging and cleansing. Drinking too much water more than 15 minutes before the application of the kambo can dilute electrolyte concentrations in the body and cause a serious condition called hyponatremia. Hydrate normally prior to your session, but don’t over drink.

  • Remove jewelry for the session.

  • If menstruating, kambo may cause increased blood flow for up to 72 hours.

Aftercare

  • A light meal/snacks will be provided after your session.

  • Listen to your body and what it needs.  Rest. Relax. Sleep.

  • Rehydrate.

  • Continue eating a clean diet for at least 24 hours, without alcohol or caffeine.

  • Do not fast or detox for at least 7 days.

  • Use natural products such as aloe vera, calendula or coconut oil to aid in healing the administration sites and minimize scarring.

What to Bring

  • A refillable, covered water bottle for drinking water.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows for access to the area of treatment (typically the upper arm or lower leg). A change of clothes is recommended. Accidents do happen and it’s nice to have some clean clothes to change into.

  • Blanket and pillow.

  • A hair tie to tie back long hair.
